Prayer Points: April 2016

In the last 12 months, Ethiopia (and our team there) has seen much tension - from strife between the government and the Ordo people group (some of the children we serve are Ordo), to drought and famine, to rapid industrialization and currency inflation, and even terrorism, Ethiopia continues to be a country in need of PRAYER. All of these issues affect our team serving on the ground, and the children they minister to. We have also seen trials in the lives of our team members who serve so selflessly. These complex issues, our team and the children we serve need prayer!

Isn’t Ethiopia’s countryside beautiful? Pray with us for the communities of people living in rural Ethiopia! These men, women, and children face constant threats such as food scarcity, lack of work, inadequate access to education. Despite the beauty of the countryside, many people are drawn to urban centers, which oftentimes offer little or no solution to their problems. Most of the children living on Addis Ababa’s streets have migrated to the city from the countryside.

Many of the homeless children we serve in Addis Ababa migrated to the city from rural areas, looking for work. The reality of what life in the city looks like for a child alone and without resources is staggering. Education takes them off the streets and offers hope. This is why we work so hard to get homeless children from #StreetToSchool, because through education, children can see a future. Pray for the studies of our beneficiaries, that they would excel well. #GodSizedGrowth

Pray with us ... Our Field Director and family, Joe & Karyn Bridges' Ethiopian home was broken into in the middle of April. Many important items were stolen, including their appliances, car, and children's toys. We are so thankful that God has provided some extra funding from generous donors to replace many of the items stolen and most importantly that NO ONE WAS HURT during the incident! Praise Him! Please join us and pray for the Bridges as they deal with everything that needs to be done following this event and that they would have peace and protection going forward!

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
