Team Ethiopia: No Matter Where You Are

Team Ethiopia is a short-term missions group from Central Church in Collierville, TN. They partner with our Ethiopian Team on the ground in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for about a week. Here is their daily update regarding their experience and the way God moves in and through this ministry. We thank them for their service! Written by: Mary Beck, team member

What a wonderful day!! We started off a little shaky but that never shakes the firm foundation of the team.

Being in charge of activities and song I get to watch the kids back away from their normal lives and just be a kid. Today they just let loose and danced their hearts out. All the praise and worship that goes into song never changes no matter where you are in the world. The feelings you receive  from Christ in those moments of song worship never change no matter where you are in the world.

You would be amazed at how these children will steal your heart with one simple smile. It's hard to fully understand them but when you see their excitement and love it's like there is no language barrier at all. Christ is in them and I can feel it. Christ is in this team and we can all feel it.

With it Only being day two, I was surprised at how many kids' names I remembered and how many kids remembered mine.  They want to be apart of the love we have and little do they know they already are.  They don't realize how much they impact us with their love, appreciation, and kind gestures.

After the program, we were able to stay with the kids while they ate lunch.  It gave us chance to really connect with the kids on their level.  After an impromptu hair braiding by several girls for myself and Alexa, we said our goodbyes.

Tonight's dinner was a gift. We got to experience the culture of Ethiopia through food, music, and dance. We got to dine among friends and people from the area it was over all a great way to end the day!
